Dartmouth is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

Dartmouth is quite suitable for those who travel by foot; meeting daily needs is convenient by walking. The bicycle is a good means of transportation in this community. Dartmouth is not particularly transit friendly. Nevertheless, property owners are served by approximately 30 bus lines, and it is very convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most homes. In contrast, Dartmouth is very car friendly. Accessing a place to park is easy, and it is a rather short drive to the closest highway from any home in Dartmouth.

Services

It is often feasible for home buyers in Dartmouth to purchase their groceries by walking. Furthermore, a cafe is usually a rather short stroll away, for instance along Wyse Road, and there are also over 100 restaurants in this community. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing roughly 40% of dwellings in Dartmouth, and the rest are mainly small apartment buildings. This community has a good variety of housing sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. The split between homeowners and renters is about even.
