Dundurn

Dundurn is a neighbourhood within Hamilton, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent means of transportation in Dundurn. The street infrastructure is quite amenable to driving, and it is very easy to park. However, travelling by transit can be at times challenging in Dundurn as a result of the service's low frequency. Thankfully, homeowners have access to a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is usually just around the corner. Despite the fact that a fair number of residents choose to move around by bike, and cycling is more feasible in certain pockets than others, the bicycle is a rather limited method of transportation in this area since the bicycling network is not very comprehensive, and the topography is not very flat. Walking is also not very common in this part of the city, although running common errands is convenient.

Services

Primary schools are easy to access on foot from most homes for sale in Dundurn. On the other hand, this neighbourhood does not contain any high schools. With regards to food, a supermarket is ordinarily reachable within an extended walk from most properties for sale in Dundurn. Moreover, a restaurant is commonly just around the corner.

Character

There is an extensive selection of green spaces in Dundurn. A large number of locations within the neighbourhood have fairly good access to parks, including Bayfront Trail, since there are a few of them nearby for residents to unwind in. This part of the city is a great area for those who aren't bothered by a little noise, as traffic can occasionally be loud during busier hours of the day.

Housing

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing many dwellings in Dundurn, and the remaining dwellings are mainly small apartment buildings and townhouses. This neighbourhood experienced its largest building boom prior to the 1960s, so most of the available housing is from this time period. This area has a good selection of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About two thirds of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while renters occupy the remainder.
