The neighbourhood of Dundurn is part of the city of Hamilton, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area.

Transportation

The best way to navigate this area is usually a car. It is very easy to park, and the street infrastructure is appropriate for cars. However, the public transit system in Dundurn is somewhat poor. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far from most homes. Travelling by foot is not very common in Dundurn, although many day-to-day needs can be carried out by walking. Cycling is also difficult in this part of the city because there are a good number of slopes to challenge cyclists, and the bicycling infrastructure is fairly poor. Nonetheless, certain enjoyable pockets for cycling exist, and biking is quite commonplace.

Services

It is difficult to reach the closest supermarket by walking in this neighbourhood. Additionally, Dundurn is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat. In terms of education, in Dundurn, parents and their schoolchildren will generally be able to reach primary schools on foot. However, there are no high schools in this neighbourhood.

A highlight of Dundurn is its broad selection of green spaces. There are a few parks close by for residents to enjoy, such as Bayfront Trail, and they are very well-situated, making it very easy to get to them from most locations in this neighbourhood. Lastly, this area can be relatively noisy, since traffic during busy hours can occasionally be loud.

Single detached homes are the main housing type, representing around half of dwellings in Dundurn, whereas the rest are mainly small apartment buildings and townhouses.
