Part of the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area, Freeman is a neighbourhood within Burlington, Ontario.

Transportation

The fairly good public transit access allows people to get to many destinations without needing a car due to Burlington on the Lakeshore West, and around 10 nearby bus lines. Even though the area is flat, and cycling is better in some pockets than others, the bike is a rather poor means of transportation in this neighbourhood because the bicycling infrastructure is not very well-developed. Walking is not very common in this area, despite the fact that running common errands is easy on foot, and many businesses are nearby. In contrast, the car is very often the favoured method to get around in Freeman. Many real estate listings are a very short car ride from the closest highway, such as Highway 403, and coming across a place to park is easy.

Services

House buyers in this part of the city will appreciate that a grocery store is always only a reasonably short walk away. Likewise, this area is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat or go to a cafe. Concerning education, in this neighbourhood, parents and their children will generally be able to reach daycares on foot. On the other hand, there are only a limited number of primary schools in Freeman and accordingly they can be a rather long walk away. Additionally, Freeman does not contain any high schools.

Character

There is a vast selection of green spaces in Freeman. Parks are especially well-spread out and there are a few of them nearby for residents to discover, making it easy to access them. Finally, thanks to the presence of few pedestrians, this part of Burlington remains relatively quiet; however those who are near the railway line, Highway 403 or Queen Elizabeth Way may experience more noise.
