Fairview

The neighbourhood of Fairview is part of the city of Brantford, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Brantford metropolitan area.

Transportation

Travelling on foot is practical for property owners in this neighbourhood; many daily errands can be run without the use of a car. On the other hand, the bicycle is a somewhat poor mode of transportation in Fairview as the topography is not especially flat, and the bicycling infrastructure is rather limited. The preferred method of transportation in this neighbourhood is usually a car. Finding a place to park is quite easy, and most properties for sale are a short drive from the nearest highway, such as Highway 403.

Services

Both primary and secondary schools are straightforward to access on foot from most houses for sale in Fairview. At the primary level, there are both public and private schools. In contrast, daycares are not especially abundant and therefore not always within walking distance. In terms of food, it is convenient to access the nearest grocery store on foot from any location in this part of the city. Residents of this neighbourhood can enjoy a few restaurants as well.

Character

The character of Fairview is exemplified by its relaxed environment. Parks, like Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre, are especially well-distributed and there are a few of them close by for residents to unwind in, which makes it easy to reach them. This part of Brantford is also reasonably quiet, as the streets tend to be quite tranquil - however noise can be problematic near Highway 403.

Housing

Most homes in Fairview were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, during its biggest building boom. In this area, most dwellings are single detached homes, and the remaining houses are mainly small apartment buildings. Homeowners occupy about 80% of the properties in Fairview while the rest are rented. This neighbourhood offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
