Big Ridge

Part of the Cape Breton metropolitan area, Big Ridge is a community within Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Big Ridge is very car friendly. It is especially convenient to come across a parking spot. Travelling on foot is not very practical for residents in Big Ridge since carrying out daily needs is nearly impossible by walking. Cycling is also very hard in this area since there are very few bike lanes, and the terrain is not particularly flat.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this area. Furthermore, parents and their children may consider it very hard to reach daycares as a pedestrian. Concerning eating, in all but a very small number of cases, a car is needed to do groceries.

Character

Big Ridge is a very good community to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. The noise levels in this part of Cape Breton Municipality are very low, as the streets are generally very peaceful. Lastly, although this community does not contain any public green spaces, parks are sparse in nearby communities, which results in them being easy to get to from the majority of locations in Big Ridge.
