Situated within the Cape Breton metropolitan area, Big Ridge is a community within Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Big Ridge is very car friendly. It is especially convenient to park. Moving around by bicycle is very hard in this area because the cycling infrastructure is not very extensive, and there are a fair number of elevation changes. It is also very inconvenient for people walking to navigate Big Ridge as almost no day-to-day errands can be run on foot.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in Big Ridge. In addition, parents may find it very difficult for their kids to reach daycares on foot. With regards to eating, property owners in Big Ridge almost always have to use a car to do grocery shopping.
