Little Lorraine

The community of Little Lorraine can be found in the municipality of Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Cape Breton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is a great means of transportation in this part of Cape Breton Municipality. Parking is generally easy. Cycling is very difficult in this part of Cape Breton Municipality as the cycling infrastructure is not very well-developed, and cyclists are faced with a considerable amount of elevation changes. Walking is also not very feasible for residents in Little Lorraine since almost no common errands can be run on foot.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this community. With respect to food, in all cases, a vehicle is needed to purchase groceries.

Character

Little Lorraine is a wonderful community to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced ambience. This part of the municipality is very quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, although the community does not contain any public green spaces, parks are well-situated in nearby communities, which makes them very easy to reach.

Housing

The substantial percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of Little Lorraine is an important part of its character. Around one third of properties in this area were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This community offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 95% of the properties in Little Lorraine while the remainder are rented.
