Little Lorraine

The community of Little Lorraine can be found in the municipality of Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Cape Breton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is very often the favoured method of transportation in Little Lorraine. It is very convenient to park. Little Lorraine is not very cycling-friendly because the bicycling network is not very well-developed, and riding is made arduous by the typically steep topography. It is also very challenging for people walking to navigate this community since most daily needs are practically impossible to carry out on foot.

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this community. With respect to food, in all cases, a vehicle is needed to purchase groceries.

Character

Little Lorraine is a wonderful community to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced ambience. This part of the municipality is very quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, although the community does not contain any public green spaces, parks are well-situated in nearby communities, which makes them very easy to reach.

Housing

Nearly all of the population of this community own their home while renters make up the remainder. The predominant housing types in this community are single detached homes and row houses. Around one third of properties in this part of Cape Breton Municipality were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This area is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
