Latimer Lake is a neighbourhood within Saint John, New Brunswick, which is situated in the Greater Saint John metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent transportation option in this neighbourhood. It is especially convenient to park. A majority of the houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in areas that are not very well-suited for walking as running daily errands is inconvenient. The bicycle is a rather limited method of transportation in this part of Saint John because there are very few bike lanes, and there are a fair number of hills for cyclists to brave.

Services

There are only a very small number of primary schools in Latimer Lake and therefore they can be a very long walk away. Moreover, this part of the city does not contain any high schools. With respect to eating, home buyers in Latimer Lake almost always have to turn to a vehicle to access the nearest grocery store.

Character

Latimer Lake offers a relaxed ambience. Latimer Lake is very quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic near the airport (Saint John Airport). Parks aren't well-located, making it rather difficult to reach them. Still, residents will be able to access green spaces in nearby neighbourhoods.

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing the majority of buildings in Latimer Lake, while mobile homes make up most of the remaining housing stock. This area offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Around 85% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while the rest are renters. Roughly 40% of homes in this part of the city were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
