Deer Ridge

Deer Ridge is a neighbourhood within West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

The car is usually the best way to move around in Deer Ridge. The majority of houses for sale are a very short car ride from the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, and it is especially convenient to access a place to park. In contrast, this part of the municipality is not a very pleasant part of West Vancouver for getting around by public transit. Many of the houses for sale in this area are located in places that are not very well-suited for walking because carrying out daily needs is challenging. Deer Ridge is also not very conducive to cycling because there are very few bike lanes, and there is a considerable amount of slopes.

Services

Property owners in Deer Ridge almost always have to rely on a car to travel to the nearest supermarket. Concerning education, both primary and secondary schools are very easy to walk to from anywhere in this area. On the other hand, it can be challenging to access daycares on foot.

Character

There is a wide variety of green spaces in Deer Ridge. There are a few parks nearby for residents to visit and they are especially well-situated, making it easy to access them. This part of the municipality is a great neighbourhood for those who don't mind a little noise, since during busy hours, traffic can occasionally be bothersome.

Housing

The buildings in this part of the municipality are quite new, since about 40% of its dwellings were built following the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s. In this area, around 40% of dwellings are single detached homes, whereas the rest are mainly large apartment buildings. Homeowners occupy about 85% of the dwellings in Deer Ridge and 15% are rented. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
