Bayridge

The neighbourhood of Bayridge is part of the municipality of West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent transportation option in Bayridge. It is a short drive to the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from anywhere in this area, and it is very easy to find a parking spot. In contrast, commuting by public transit is challenging in Bayridge. Thankfully, homeowners benefit from a few bus lines, and bus stops are usually nearby. This part of the municipality is not very well-suited for walking because carrying out daily needs is challenging by walking. Bayridge is also not very bicycling-friendly since cyclists encounter quite a few hills, and there are few bike lanes.

Services

A vehicle is almost always needed in Bayridge to reach the closest supermarket. Concerning education, it is a rather short walk to get to daycares and primary schools from most houses for sale in this neighbourhood. In contrast, Bayridge does not contain any high schools.

Character

Bayridge is a reasonably good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. There are a few green spaces nearby for residents to check out and they are especially well-located, which makes them easy to get to. Most areas in this part of West Vancouver are quiet, as the streets are usually tranquil - however noise can be bothersome close to the railway line or Trans-Canada Highway.

Housing

The large proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Bayridge is an important part of its character. This part of the municipality is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 80% of the units in the neighbourhood while the remainder are rented. Around 45% of homes in this part of West Vancouver were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
