Cypress

Situated within the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Cypress is a neighbourhood in West Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

This part of West Vancouver is very car friendly. It is very easy to find a place to park, and the majority of properties for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the closest highway. However, Cypress is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are usually nearby. This part of the municipality is not very conducive to those who travel by foot as carrying out day-to-day needs is impractical by walking. The bike is a somewhat poor method of transportation in Cypress since the cycling network is not very well-developed, and riding is rendered strenuous by the typically hilly area.

Services

It is very rarely feasible for property owners in Cypress to purchase groceries on foot. When it comes to education, daycares and primary schools are especially easy to walk to from most homes for sale in Cypress. On the other hand, this part of West Vancouver does not have any high schools.

Character

Cypress is a reasonably good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm environment. Public green spaces are very easy to access since there are a few of them nearby for residents to discover. This neighbourhood is also good for those who enjoy quiet areas, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic.

Roughly one quarter of properties in Cypress were constructed prior to the 1960s, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing about 90% of buildings in this neighbourhood, whereas the rest are mainly duplexes. Homeowners occupy around 85% of the units in Cypress and the remainder are rented. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
