Situated within the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Aldergrove is a neighbourhood within Township of Langley, British Columbia.

Transportation

Getting around by car is easy in Aldergrove. Parking is generally easy. However, commuting by public transit is difficult in this area. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily nearby. Aldergrove is not especially well-suited for those who travel by foot because few daily needs can be carried out on foot. Commuting by bicycle is also at times difficult in this area since there are few bike lanes, and there are a good number of elevation changes.

Services

It is very easy to get to the closest grocery store on foot in Aldergrove. A limited variety of restaurants and coffee shops is available as well. When it comes to education, schools and daycares are easy to reach on foot from anywhere in Aldergrove. Families have the choice between public and private schools at both the elementary and high school level.

Character

Aldergrove is a wonderful neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed ambience. This part of Township of Langley is excellent for those who enjoy quiet surroundings, as the streets tend to be especially calm. Finally, public green spaces, such as Philip Jackman Park and Aldergrove Community Secondary, are very well-distributed and there are around 20 of them close by for residents to check out, resulting in them being easy to get to from the majority of locations in the neighbourhood.

Housing

In Aldergrove, around 45% of buildings are single detached homes, whereas the rest are mainly small apartment buildings and duplexes. This part of the municipality is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly three quarters of the properties in the neighbourhood and the rest are rented. About one third of homes in this neighbourhood were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s.
