The neighbourhood of UDistrict can be found in the city of Abbotsford, British Columbia, which is located in the Abbotsford - Mission metropolitan area.

Transportation

The car is usually the favoured mode of transportation in this neighbourhood. It is convenient to park, and many real estate listings are a very short drive from the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway. In contrast, the public transit network in this part of the city is not very accessible. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are ordinarily nearby. The bike is a somewhat poor mode of transportation in UDistrict because riding is made difficult by the typically steep terrain, and the bicycling infrastructure is sometimes poor. Thankfully, a fair number of families decide to move around by bike. Walking in UDistrict is also not very popular, even though many day-to-day needs can be met without having to use a vehicle.

Services

Parents and their children will value that no matter where their property is situated in this neighbourhood, schools and daycares are close by. At the elementary level, there are both public and private schools. With respect to food, some property owners in UDistrict may have the option to purchase their groceries on foot, while others will need another means of transportation. However, house buyers won't have to look far to take advantage of the closest coffee shop, and there are also a limited number of opportunities for those who care about restaurants in close proximity. It is also easy to reach a selection of clothing stores on foot.

Character

People who prefer a calm environment will enjoy UDistrict. It is easy to reach parks since there are a few of them nearby for residents to explore. This part of the city is reasonably quiet overall, as the streets tend to be calm - however noise can be an issue around Trans-Canada Highway.

Housing

In UDistrict, about half of buildings are small apartment buildings, while duplexes and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. This area offers mainly four or more bedroom and two bedroom homes. Around two thirds of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the remainder are rented. Roughly 30% of homes in this part of the city were built in the 1990s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s.
