Transportation

Centre-Sud permits home buyers to move around by a variety of methods of transportation. The public transit network in Centre-Sud is great. For instance, it is very easy to find a nearby rapid transit station, including Papineau Station, Beaudry Station and Station Berri-UQAM 1 with access to the Ligne 2 - Orange, Ligne 1 - Verte and Ligne 4 - Jaune, from most residences in the neighbourhood. There are approximately 30 bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far away from most properties. A majority of the homes for sale in this neighbourhood are located in places that are also very well-suited for walking; all common errands can be run on foot, and there are also a fair number of businesses nearby. Centre-Sud is a very pleasant part of Montréal for cyclists. In particular, a bike share station can always be found nearby, the cycling network is well-developed, and there are a limited number of elevation changes to challenge cyclists.

There is a good amount of greenery in this part of Montréal; it is very easy to reach green spaces in the neighbourhood since there are over 50 of them close by for residents to unwind in. Residents will also find that there are many tree-lined streets.

Housing

The homes in this neighbourhood are quite old, since about 40% of its dwellings were constructed pre-1960, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 2000s. The predominance of small apartment buildings in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. About three quarters of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by renters while owners occupy the remainder. This part of Montréal offers mainly two bedroom and one bedroom homes.
