Transportation

Parkwoods enables homeowners to get around by several methods of transportation. The public transit system in this neighbourhood is reasonably practical. In particular, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most residences. Parkwoods is also a fairly pleasant part of Toronto for pedestrians; many common errands can be run on foot, and a variety of businesses are reasonably nearby. Cycling is convenient in Parkwoods.

Services

In Parkwoods, parents and their children will typically be able to reach schools and daycares by walking. Along with public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools. In terms of food, the closest grocery store in this part of Toronto is typically only a short walk away. Moreover, Parkwoods is a fairly good place in which to eat out or go to a cafe.

Character

People who prefer a slower-paced ambience will enjoy Parkwoods. The noise levels in this neighbourhood are reasonably low, as the streets tend to be calm - however some parts can be quite loud, especially closer to Don Valley Parkway. Lastly, greenery is very prominent in this area as a lot of tree-lined streets are present. There are around 10 public green spaces close by for residents to check out, including Brookbanks Park, and they are especially well-distributed, which makes them very easy to reach.

Housing

About half of dwellings are large apartment buildings, making it easy to find apartments in Parkwoods, but small apartment buildings and single detached homes are also present in the housing stock. This neighbourhood experienced its most significant building boom between 1960 and 1980, so most of the available properties are from this era. This area also has a good variety of housing sizes; it is quite easy to find houses ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
