Transportation

Regardless of the medium of transportation, it is straightforward to get around in this neighbourhood. Glen Park West is very transit friendly by reason of a multitude of nearby rapid transit stations with access to the Line 1 (Yonge-University), and about 10 nearby bus lines. Walking is also quite practical for residents in this part of the city; all common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle, and there are also a good number of businesses close by. Getting around by bicycle is easy in this part of the city because the bicycling infrastructure is reasonably good, and there are a limited number of hills to challenge cyclists.

Services

In Glen Park West, families will generally be able to reach schools and daycares by walking. Apart from public schools, there are private elementary and secondary schools. With respect to food, it is very convenient to reach both a general and a specialty grocery store by walking from any location in this part of Toronto. Moreover, Glen Park West is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat or go to a cafe, for example along Dufferin Street.

Glen Park West is a good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced ambience. This part of the city features a small amount of greenery; to be more precise, residents will find that there are relatively few tree-lined streets. Nonetheless, green spaces, like Kay Gardner Beltline Park, are especially well-distributed and there are about 20 of them close by for residents to enjoy, making them very easy to reach. The noise levels in this area are also quite low, as the streets are usually tranquil - although that is not the case close to the railway line or Allen Expressway.

Housing
