Located in the Greater Thunder Bay metropolitan area, Gemstone is a neighbourhood within Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Transportation

Commuting by car is very convenient in this neighbourhood. Parking is quite easy, and most properties for sale are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway. However, the public transit service in Gemstone is not very frequent. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and it is especially convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most homes. This area is not particularly appropriate for cycling because there are a good number of elevation changes to challenge cyclists, and there are few bike lanes. A majority of the houses for sale in this part of Thunder Bay are located in places that are also not very convenient for walking because very few day-to-day errands can be run on foot.

Services

Accessing the closest supermarket on foot is possible for some, but not all, house buyers in Gemstone. Residents can enjoy a few restaurants and cafes as well. This area offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Nearly 95% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the rest are rented.
