The neighbourhood of Galetta can be found in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, which is located in the Ottawa - Gatineau metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent mode of transportation in this part of the city. Accessing a parking spot is quite easy, and the majority of houses for sale are a reasonably short car ride from the closest highway, such as Highway 417. It is very difficult for people walking to move around in this part of the city as most day-to-day needs are very challenging to meet on foot. The bike is a fairly poor means of transportation in Galetta since there are a good number of elevation changes, and the bicycling infrastructure is not very well-developed.

Services

This area does not have any high schools or primary schools. With respect to food, property owners in Galetta almost always have to rely on a vehicle to reach the closest supermarket.

Character

Galetta is a good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere. The noise levels in Galetta are low, as the streets are usually peaceful - although that is not the case closer to the railway line or Highway 417. Many locations in the neighbourhood have fairly good access to parks, such as Galetta Community Centre, since they are spread out sporadically. Despite that, there are a few green spaces close by for residents to explore.

Housing

Single detached homes and townhouses are the predominant housing type in Galetta. About 30% of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This part of the city offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas renters make up the remainder.
