Highbury

The neighbourhood of Highbury can be found in the city of London, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater London metropolitan area.

Transportation

The preferred method to navigate Highbury is very often a car. Parking is generally easy, and many houses for sale are a very short drive from the nearest highway, such as Highway 401. On the other hand, the public transit network in Highbury is not very practical. Nevertheless, homeowners are served by a few bus lines, and most properties are near a bus stop. Although some enjoyable pockets for cycling exist, and bicycling is made easier by the generally flat terrain, this neighbourhood is not very bicycling-friendly as there are few bike lanes. It is also inconvenient for people walking to move around in Highbury because very few daily errands can be run on foot.

Services

Highbury does not contain any high schools or primary schools. Additionally, parents may find it very difficult for their schoolchildren to reach daycares as a pedestrian. Concerning food, in all cases, a car is needed to buy groceries. There are a few restaurants and cafes in Highbury.

Character

A highlight of Highbury is its wide variety of green spaces. It is very easy to get to parks, since reaching the closest one is easy from the majority of properties for sale and there are a few public green spaces nearby for residents to check out. This part of the city is an excellent neighbourhood for those who don't mind a bit of noise, as during rush hour, traffic can occasionally be bothersome.

Housing

About half of homes in Highbury were built after the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1990s. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing the overwhelming majority of dwellings in this part of the city. Homeowners occupy roughly 90% of the properties in Highbury and 10% are rented. There is a higher proportion of three bedroom homes in this neighbourhood.
