Part of the Kitchener - Cambridge - Waterloo metropolitan area, Victoria North is a neighbourhood within Kitchener, Ontario.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent transportation option in Victoria North. Parking is generally easy, and the majority of homes for sale are a very short drive from the closest highway, such as Highway 85. However, Victoria North is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, residents have access to a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most properties. There are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of this part of the city, although carrying out day-to-day needs is easy. Even though riding a bike is better in some sectors than others, and there are a limited number of elevation changes for cyclists to brave, cycling is also challenging in Victoria North since the bicycling network is not especially extensive.

Services

A car is almost always required in this part of Kitchener to reach the nearest grocery store. Nevertheless, pharmacies are generally easy to get to on foot and sell some staple foods. Residents can enjoy around 10 restaurants and cafes as well. Regarding education, there are no high schools and no primary schools in this part of the city. In addition, there are only a few daycares and therefore they can be a long walk away.

Character

Victoria North offers a great variety of green spaces to enjoy. Parks, like Stanley Park Optimist Natural Area, are very well-situated and there are a few of them close by for residents to explore, which makes it easy to reach them. This part of the city is an excellent neighbourhood for those who aren't bothered by a bit of noise, as during rush hour, traffic can occasionally be bothersome.

Housing

About 55% of the population of this neighbourhood rent their home and 45% are owners. Roughly 45% of buildings are single detached homes, making it easy to find detached homes in this area, and the rest are mainly small apartment buildings. This neighbourhood experienced its largest construction boom prior to the 1960s, so most of the available housing stock is from this time period. This part of the city also has a good variety of housing sizes; homes range from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
