Hidden Valley

Hidden Valley is a neighbourhood within Kitchener, Ontario, which is situated in the Kitchener - Cambridge - Waterloo metropolitan area.

Transportation

This part of Kitchener is reasonably transit friendly owing to a few nearby bus lines. However, walking is not very common in Hidden Valley, although most daily needs are easy to carry out without having to resort to a car. Even though cycling is more practical in some pockets than others, Hidden Valley is not particularly bicycling-friendly because the cycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive, and there is a considerable amount of elevation changes. However, driving is an excellent medium of transportation in this part of Kitchener. It is very convenient to find a parking spot, and nearby highways, such as Highway 8, are very easy to drive to from anywhere in Hidden Valley.

Services

Some, but not all, home buyers in this neighbourhood will live within walking distance of the closest supermarket. With regards to education, families will welcome that wherever their house is situated in this part of Kitchener, primary schools are close by. On the other hand, there are only a few high schools and therefore they can be a long walk away.

Character

One of the highlights of Hidden Valley is its vast selection of green spaces. There are a few public green spaces close by for residents to visit, such as River Birch Park, and they are very well-located, which makes it very easy to access them. This area is an excellent neighbourhood for those who don't mind a bit of noise, as traffic can occasionally be loud during busier hours of the day.

Housing

About 60% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by renters and 40% are occupied by owners. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing about 40% of dwellings in this part of Kitchener, and the rest of the properties are mainly large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings. Around 45% of homes in this neighbourhood were built following the year 2000, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1990s. This neighbourhood has a good choice of housing size options, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
