Forest Heights - West is a neighbourhood within Kitchener, Ontario, which is located in the Kitchener - Cambridge - Waterloo metropolitan area.
Transportation
Cars are an excellent transportation option in this neighbourhood. It is easy to park, and nearby highways, such as Highway 7 & 8, are quite easy to drive to from any location in Forest Heights - West. However, public transit users may experience limited options in this neighbourhood by reason of the service's low frequency. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. It is occasionally difficult for pedestrians to navigate this part of Kitchener as few common errands can be run on foot. On the other hand, Forest Heights - West is quite bike-friendly as the bicycling network is reasonably good.
Services
Families will welcome that no matter where their property is located in Forest Heights - West, primary schools are close by. However, parents and their schoolchildren may consider it very hard to access high schools on foot. As far as eating is concerned, some, but not all, home buyers in this area will reside within walking distance of the nearest supermarket. A limited selection of restaurants can be found in Forest Heights - West as well.
Character
The character of Forest Heights - West is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. The noise levels in this part of the city are very low, as the streets tend to be very calm. Finally, getting to public green spaces, including Forest Heights Community Trail and Sandrock Greenway, is very easy from the majority of locations in the neighbourhood since there are around 30 of them close by for residents to visit.

In Forest Heights - West, around 80% of buildings are single detached homes, whereas the remainder are mainly townhouses. Although this area is particularly good for those looking for three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy around 85% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood and 15% are rented. This neighbourhood experienced its biggest construction boom in the 1960s and 1970s, so most of the available properties are from this era.
