Hamilton Beach

The neighbourhood of Hamilton Beach can be found in the city of Hamilton, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area.

Transportation

The car is very often the preferred method to navigate Hamilton Beach. It is especially convenient to come across a place to park, and it is a short drive to the closest highway, such as Queen Elizabeth Way, from any home in this part of the city. On the other hand, the public transit service in Hamilton Beach is rather limited. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and it is especially convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most houses. Cycling is convenient in this area since bicycle riders do not face significant hills. Hamilton Beach is not very convenient for walking because very few common errands can be run on foot.

Services

In all but a very small number of cases, a car is needed to shop for groceries. With respect to education, Hamilton Beach does not contain any high schools or primary schools.

Character

One of the highlights of Hamilton Beach is its broad selection of green spaces. There are a few parks close by for residents to visit, such as Beach Strip Open Space, and they are very well-distributed, which makes it very easy to get to them. As there are very few people out and about on the streets, this part of the city is relatively quiet.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing most buildings in Hamilton Beach, and the rest are mainly duplexes. This neighbourhood has a good variety of unit sizes, ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Around 80% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the rest are rented. A majority of the houses available in the housing market in this area were built pre-1960, when a large proportion of the housing growth occurred.
