Many houses for sale are a short drive from the closest highway, such as Queen Elizabeth Way, and coming across a place to park is generally easy. Getting around by bicycle is challenging in this neighbourhood because the cycling infrastructure is not very extensive, and there are a fair number of elevation changes for cyclists to brave. Walking is also not very feasible for house buyers in Bayview because running common errands is difficult on foot.

Nevertheless, it is generally a rather short distance to the nearest pharmacy, which can supply some basic food items. There are also a few choices for those who appreciate nearby restaurants. The noise levels in this part of the city are also reasonably low, as the streets are generally calm - although that is not the case around Queen Elizabeth Way.

Housing

Around one third of properties in Bayview were built in the 1990s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing about half of dwellings in this neighbourhood, while small apartment buildings are the main alternative in the housing stock. Homeowners occupy about 90% of the dwellings in Bayview while the rest are rented. This part of the city is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
