Bayview

The neighbourhood of Bayview can be found in the city of Hamilton, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Bayview is an extremely convenient part of Hamilton for travelling by car. Accessing a place to park is generally easy, and nearby highways, such as Queen Elizabeth Way, are very easy to drive to from any home in Bayview. This neighbourhood is not very conducive to bicycling since the terrain is not particularly flat, and the cycling network is rather poor. Walking is also not very convenient for house buyers in Bayview as running common errands is inconvenient.

Services

Property owners in Bayview almost always need a car to buy their groceries. Nevertheless, getting to the closest pharmacy and accordingly some staple foods is usually easy. There are also a few opportunities for those who value close by restaurants. As far as education is concerned, there are no high schools and no primary schools in Bayview. In addition, parents may consider it very hard for their children to get to daycares as a pedestrian.

Character

Bayview offers a calm atmosphere and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. It is easy to get to parks since there are a few of them nearby for residents to visit. This part of the city is also fairly good for those who enjoy quiet areas, as the streets tend to be tranquil - although that is not the case near Queen Elizabeth Way.

Housing

In Bayview, roughly half of dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. This neighbourhood offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about 90% of the units in Bayview and the remainder are rented. The buildings in this part of Hamilton are very modern, since around one third of its dwellings were built in the 1990s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
