Midtown

Part of the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Midtown is a neighbourhood within Ajax, Ontario.

Transportation

Midtown will draw physically active home buyers as it is reasonably well-suited for those who travel by foot; many daily needs are convenient to carry out without having to use a car. This part of the town is also quite suited for biking. The public transit service in Midtown is not very frequent. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most properties. In contrast, driving is a very good means of transportation in this area. Finding a place to park is quite easy, and many houses for sale are a very short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Highway 401.

Services

Parents and their children will appreciate the proximity to daycares and schools, which are within walking distance from most, if not all, homes for sale in Midtown. Families can choose between public and private high schools. With regards to eating, it is straightforward to get to the nearest supermarket by walking in Midtown. Moreover, there are a fair number of opportunities for those who care about nearby restaurants and cafes.

Character

Midtown offers a slower-paced ambience. Midtown is very quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Green spaces aren't well-situated, which makes it very hard to get to them from a large number of locations within the neighbourhood.

Housing

Roughly 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas the rest are renters. The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of this part of Ajax is an important part of its character. A majority of the housing growth in this area took place between 1980 and 1990. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
