Part of the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, West Quoddy is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

The car is usually the best method to navigate West Quoddy. It is especially convenient to park. This community is not very amenable to biking as the cycling network is quite poor, and there are a fair number of slopes. West Quoddy is also not very convenient for those who travel by foot because almost no common errands can be run without the use of a car.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this part of Halifax. With respect to eating, home buyers in West Quoddy almost always have to turn to a car to access the nearest grocery store.

Character

West Quoddy is a wonderful community to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. West Quoddy is especially quiet overall, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic. Public green spaces aren't well-located, which makes them very difficult to access.

Housing

Homeowners occupy roughly 90% of the dwellings in the community and 10% are occupied by renters. Single detached homes and townhouses are the main housing type in this area. About 30% of properties in this part of Halifax were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
