Transportation

The favoured transportation option in this community is usually a car. It is very easy to park. The bicycle is a rather poor method of transportation in this part of the municipality since the cycling infrastructure is not very well-developed, and the topography is not particularly flat. Character

West Loon Lake is an excellent community to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere. West Loon Lake is very quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Parks aren't well-spread out, resulting in them being very difficult to get to from most locations in this area.

Housing

Roughly 90% of the population of this community own their home and 10% are renters. The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. About 40% of properties in this community were constructed before the 1960s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1990s. This part of Halifax is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
