Located in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Third Lake is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Driving is usually the preferred method to move around in Third Lake. It is very convenient to find a parking spot. It is very difficult for pedestrians to get around in Third Lake as meeting daily needs is practically impossible by walking. Biking is also very hard in this community as the cycling network is not very well-developed, and there are a good number of slopes.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this part of the municipality. With regards to eating, in all cases, a car is needed to do groceries.

Character

People who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere will enjoy Third Lake. Third Lake is very quiet, as the streets are generally very calm. Green spaces aren't well-distributed, which makes it very difficult to reach them from the majority of locations within this part of the municipality.

Housing

The homes in this part of Halifax are quite old, since roughly one third of its dwellings were built before the 1960s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s.
