Sober Island is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent transportation option in Sober Island. Coming across a parking spot is quite easy. Walking is not very convenient for residents in Sober Island since almost no daily errands can be run without the use of a car. The bicycle is a rather limited method of transportation in this part of Halifax as the topography is not very flat, and there are very few bike lanes.

Services

A vehicle is almost always needed in this part of the municipality to access the nearest supermarket. As far as education is concerned, Sober Island does not contain any high schools or primary schools.

Character

People who prefer a calm ambience will enjoy Sober Island. Sober Island is very quiet overall, as the streets are usually very tranquil. Parks aren't well-situated, which makes it very hard to access them.

Housing

The housing stock of Sober Island is composed predominantly of single detached homes and row houses.
