Travelling on foot is also not very practical for house buyers in this community as running daily errands is very difficult by walking.

Services

A vehicle is almost always required in this part of the municipality to access the nearest supermarket. When it comes to education, this community does not have any high schools or primary schools.

Character

The character of Murphy Cove is exemplified by its relaxed atmosphere. Most areas in Murphy Cove are quiet, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Parks aren't well-distributed, which makes them very hard to get to from most locations within the community.

Housing

Homeowners occupy roughly 90% of the units in the community while the remainder are rented. The substantial proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of this community is an important part of its character. About one third of properties in this area were built prior to the 1960s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. This part of Halifax is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
