The community of Grand Lake can be found in the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

Grand Lake is an extraordinarily good part of Halifax for travelling by car. Accessing a parking spot is generally easy. It is very impractical for people walking to navigate Grand Lake because almost no daily errands can be run on foot. This part of Halifax is also not very bike-friendly since the cycling infrastructure is not very well-developed, and bicycling is rendered arduous by the typically hilly area.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this part of the municipality. With regards to eating, in all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is required to purchase groceries.

Character

Grand Lake is a good community to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. The noise levels in Grand Lake are quite low, as the streets tend to be reasonably peaceful. It is sometimes challenging to get to public green spaces since they are spread out sporadically. Still, there are a few parks nearby for residents to relax in.

Housing

The housing stock of Grand Lake is composed predominantly of single detached homes and townhouses.
