The community of Governor Lake can be found in the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

The preferred method to navigate this part of Halifax is usually driving. Accessing a place to park is easy. It is very inconvenient for people travelling on foot to navigate this part of the municipality as almost no day-to-day errands can be run without needing to resort to a car. Moving around by bicycle is also difficult in this community since the cycling infrastructure is not very extensive, and the topography is not particularly flat.
