Situated in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Governor Lake is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Getting around by car is very convenient in this part of Halifax. It is very easy to access a parking spot. Most homes for sale in this part of Halifax are located in places that are not very convenient for walking because running common errands is almost impossible. Governor Lake is also not very bicycling-friendly as this area is home to a quite poor cycling infrastructure, and there are a fair number of elevation changes for cyclists to brave.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this part of the municipality. When it comes to eating, a car is almost always needed in Governor Lake to access the nearest supermarket.

Character

The character of Governor Lake is exemplified by its relaxed ambience. Governor Lake is very quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. Green spaces aren't well-distributed, making it very hard to reach them.

Housing

In Governor Lake, the overwhelming majority of dwellings are single detached homes, whereas the rest are mainly mobile homes. This community also has a variety of unit sizes; this part of Halifax is especially good for those looking for three bedroom homes.
