Bayside

Bayside is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

Travelling by car is very easy in Bayside. It is very convenient to park. This community is not very conducive to cycling because the topography is not very flat, and there are very few bike lanes. Many of the houses for sale in this part of Halifax are located in areas that are also not very well-suited for those who travel by foot since almost no daily errands can be run without having to resort to a vehicle.

Services

A car is almost always needed in Bayside to reach the nearest supermarket. As far as education is concerned, there are no high schools and no primary schools in this community.

Character

Home buyers who prefer a slower-paced environment will enjoy Bayside. Bayside is very quiet overall, as there are low levels of noise from traffic. Parks aren't well-spread out, which makes it rather difficult to access them. Despite that, there are a few green spaces nearby for residents to relax in.

Housing

The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of Bayside is an important part of its character. This part of Halifax offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy nearly 95% of the units in Bayside while the remainder are rented. Roughly 30% of homes in this community were constructed pre-1960, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s.
