Islandview

Part of the Cape Breton metropolitan area, Islandview is a community within Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Driving is a great means of transportation in this community. It is very easy to park. Islandview is not very convenient for walking because almost no daily needs can be carried out without the use of a vehicle. This area is also not very amenable to cycling since the cycling network is not very comprehensive, and riding is rendered difficult by the typically steep topography.

Services

Islandview does not contain any high schools or primary schools. Additionally, it can be very hard to walk to daycares from homes for sale in this area. In terms of eating, in all cases, a car is required to shop for groceries.

Character

The character of Islandview is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. Although the community does not contain any green spaces, parks aren't well-situated in nearby communities, which makes them very easy to access. This area is also very quiet, as the streets are very calm.

Housing

The predominant housing types in Islandview are single detached homes and townhouses. Around 30% of properties in this area were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s and the 1990s. This part of Cape Breton Municipality offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. About 90% of the population of this community own their home and renters make up the remainder.
