Part of the Cape Breton metropolitan area, Northside East Bay is a community within Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

This part of Cape Breton Municipality is especially car friendly. It is very convenient to park. This community is not very bike-friendly as there are a fair number of slopes for cyclists to brave, and the bicycling network is quite poor. A majority of the homes for sale in this part of the municipality are located in areas that are also not very conducive to those who travel by foot because meeting daily needs is very impractical.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this part of the municipality. With respect to eating, a car is almost always required in this area to reach the nearest supermarket.

Character

The character of Northside East Bay is exemplified by its slower-paced environment. Most areas in this part of Cape Breton Municipality are very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Lastly, access to public green spaces is very easy in the community, since there are a few of them nearby for residents to relax in and the majority of homes for sale have a park around the corner.

Housing

Roughly 90% of the population of this community own their home while renters make up the remainder. The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of this part of Cape Breton Municipality is an important part of its character. About 30% of properties in this community were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s. This part of the municipality offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
