Enon

The community of Enon is part of the municipality of Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Cape Breton metropolitan area.

Transportation

The preferred transportation option in Enon is very often driving. It is very easy to come across a parking spot. Travelling on foot is not very practical for home buyers in Enon as almost no daily needs can be met without the use of a vehicle. Moving around by bicycle is also difficult in this community since there are a good number of elevation changes for cyclists to brave, and there are very few bike lanes.

Services

In all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is needed to purchase groceries. When it comes to education, Enon does not contain any high schools or primary schools.

Character

Enon is an excellent community to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere. This area is especially quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. Finally, although this part of the municipality does not contain any green spaces, parks are badly-situated in nearby communities, resulting in them being very easy to access from most locations within Enon.

Housing

Roughly one quarter of properties in Enon were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. The substantial proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of this community is an important part of its character. Homeowners occupy nearly 95% of the properties in the community while the rest are rented. This community offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
