Transportation

This part of the city is especially car friendly. It is a very short car ride to the nearest highway from any home in this part of St. John's, and coming across a parking spot is quite easy. However, Bally Haly is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, house owners benefit from a few bus lines, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. Most homes for sale in this part of St. John's are located in areas that are not especially suitable for walking since carrying out day-to-day needs is at times challenging. Bally Haly is also not particularly conducive to cycling as there is a considerable amount of elevation changes, and the bicycling network is rather limited.

Services

Reaching the closest supermarket on foot is practical for some, but not all, house buyers in Bally Haly. Residents are served by a few restaurants and coffee shops as well. As far as education is concerned, both primary and secondary schools are convenient to access on foot from any location in Bally Haly. In contrast, there are only a few daycares and accordingly they can be a rather long walk away.

Character

Bally Haly offers a calm ambience. Most areas in Bally Haly are very quiet, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue.

Housing

About 60% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and renters occupy the remainder. In this neighbourhood, roughly 45% of dwellings are single detached homes, whereas the rest are mainly small apartment buildings and duplexes. Around half of properties in this area were built between 1960 and 1980, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s. This neighbourhood also has a good choice of housing size options; it is quite easy to find homes ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
