The neighbourhood of Dundarave can be found in the municipality of West Vancouver, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

Commuting by car is straightforward in Dundarave. It is easy to find a parking spot, and the majority of real estate listings are a rather short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway. In contrast, Dundarave is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and the nearest bus stop is usually just around the corner. There aren't many pedestrians out on the streets of this neighbourhood, even though running common errands is convenient by walking. Although there is a quite high density of cyclists, commuting by bicycle is also occasionally challenging in this part of the municipality since Dundarave is home to a sometimes poor cycling infrastructure, and there is a significant amount of hills.

Services

Parents and their kids will welcome that no matter where their home is situated in this area, daycares and primary schools are close by. In contrast, there are no high schools in this neighbourhood. With respect to eating, a portion of property owners in Dundarave may be able to do their grocery shopping by walking, while others will need another means of transportation. There are also approximately 10 restaurants in Dundarave. In addition, a decent choice of clothing stores can be found within a rather short walking distance.

Character

Dundarave offers a calm atmosphere and will appeal to those who enjoy spending time outdoors. There are about 20 parks nearby for residents to unwind in and they are very well-spread out, making it very easy to get to them. This area is also very quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic.

Housing

Single detached homes are the main housing type, representing many buildings in Dundarave, while large apartment buildings, small apartment buildings, and duplexes are also present in the housing stock. This area did not experience a single building boom; the construction of new dwellings in Dundarave was spread throughout several decades in the twentieth and twenty-first century. This part of West Vancouver is primarily composed of two bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Roughly three quarters of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas the rest are rented.
