The neighbourhood of South Surrey is part of the city of Surrey, British Columbia, which is located in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area.

Transportation

South Surrey is quite well-suited for walking; running daily errands is convenient. The bicycle is a reasonably good method of transportation in this area because there are a fair number of bike lanes. South Surrey is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, there are about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are generally nearby. In contrast, the car is usually the best transportation option in this part of the city. Nearby highways, such as Highway 99, are easy to drive to from any home in South Surrey, and it is convenient to access a place to park.

Services

A supermarket is usually reachable within a reasonably short walk from any home in South Surrey. 16 Avenue is among the best streets for groceries. Residents benefit from over 100 restaurants and coffee shops as well. Regarding education, it is a reasonably short walk to access both primary and secondary schools from most houses for sale in South Surrey. Along with public schools, there are private primary and secondary schools. In contrast, daycares are not especially numerous and consequently tend to require a rather long walk to get to.

Character

People who prefer a relaxed environment will enjoy South Surrey. Parks, such as Sunnyside Lawn Cemetery and 129b - Greenbelt, are very well-distributed and there are over 250 of them close by for residents to discover, which makes them easy to get to from many locations in the neighbourhood. This area is very quiet overall, as the streets are generally very calm.

Housing

In South Surrey, about half of dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock.
