Part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Pacific Douglas is a neighbourhood within Surrey, British Columbia.

Transportation

This area is very car friendly. Many houses for sale are a reasonably short drive from the nearest highway, such as Highway 99, and it is easy to come across a place to park. It is challenging for pedestrians to move around in this part of the city as few daily errands can be run without having to use a vehicle. Despite the fact that Pacific Douglas has a good bicycling infrastructure, the bike is a somewhat poor mode of transportation in this part of Surrey since there are a fair number of elevation changes to challenge cyclists.

Services

Primary schools are very convenient to walk to from anywhere in Pacific Douglas. In contrast, Pacific Douglas does not contain any high schools. Regarding food, property owners in this area almost always have to turn to a car to access the nearest supermarket. Residents of this neighbourhood are served by a few restaurants.

Character

Pacific Douglas is a very good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm ambience. Public green spaces, including Darts Hill Garden Park and Fergus Watershed Biodiversity Preserve, are very well-situated and there are around 10 of them close by for residents to explore, which makes it easy to access them. Most areas in this neighbourhood are very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.

Housing

Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing around 40% of buildings in Pacific Douglas, and the rest of the properties are mainly duplexes. This neighbourhood also has quite a good choice of housing sizes; there is a higher proportion of four or more bedroom homes in this part of Surrey. Homeowners occupy about 80% of the units in Pacific Douglas and 20% are rented. This neighbourhood experienced its main construction boom following the year 2000, so most of the available properties are from this era.
