The neighbourhood of Chief Lake can be found in the city of Prince George, British Columbia, which is located in the Greater Prince George metropolitan area.

Transportation

The preferred method to get around in Chief Lake is very often a car. The majority of real estate listings are a rather short drive from the closest highway, and parking is generally easy. In contrast, travelling by public transit is very difficult in Chief Lake. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most residences. Walking is not very practical for residents in this part of Prince George since running common errands is challenging. Cycling is also challenging in Chief Lake as there are a fair number of hills, and there are very few bike lanes.

Services

There are only a limited number of primary schools in Chief Lake and therefore they can be an extended walk away. In addition, this area does not have any high schools. With respect to eating, home buyers in Chief Lake almost always need a car to access the nearest supermarket. There are a few restaurants in this part of Prince George.

Character

Chief Lake is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm environment. This part of the city is quiet overall, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. Lastly, there are a few parks close by for residents to relax in, like Ferguson Lake Nature Reserve, which makes them easy to reach from many locations in the neighbourhood.

Housing

The homes in this neighbourhood are relatively new, since roughly one third of its buildings were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1990s and the 2000s. The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. Around 90% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners whereas renters occupy the remainder. This part of Prince George is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
