Upper Sahali is a neighbourhood within Kamloops, British Columbia, which is located in the Greater Kamloops metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is a great transportation option in Upper Sahali. It is very easy to park, and the majority of homes for sale are a rather short drive from the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway. However, the public transit system in Upper Sahali is fairly poor. Nevertheless, residents benefit from a few bus lines, and bus stops are typically nearby. Travelling by bicycle is convenient in Upper Sahali. A majority of the houses for sale in this area are located in places that are not very suitable for those who travel by foot as running common errands is at times challenging by walking.

Services

Some property owners in this part of the city may be able to access the closest supermarket on foot, while others will have to turn to another means of transportation. A limited number of restaurants and coffee shops are available as well. With regards to education, daycares and primary schools are convenient to access on foot from any location in Upper Sahali. In contrast, there are only a few high schools and therefore they can be a long walk away.

Character

Upper Sahali is a good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced ambience. This part of Kamloops is quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case near columbia street west or Hillside Offramp Way. Finally, green spaces, like Peterson Creek Nature Park and Gleneagles Park, are very well-distributed and there are about 10 of them nearby for residents to explore, resulting in them being very easy to access from numerous locations within the neighbourhood.

Housing

Roughly 40% of homes in Upper Sahali were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1980s and the 1990s. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing about 45% of dwellings in this part of Kamloops, and the rest are mainly small apartment buildings. About 70% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 30% are rented. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
