Sahali

Sahali is a community within Kamloops, British Columbia, which is situated in the Greater Kamloops metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is a great transportation option in this part of Kamloops. It is a rather short car ride to the nearest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from anywhere in this area, and it is very easy to park. In contrast, commuting by transit can be difficult in Sahali due to the low service level. Nonetheless, there are approximately 10 bus lines crossing the community, and bus stops are not very far from most houses. This community is not especially well-suited for walking since meeting daily needs is at times difficult. On the other hand, getting around by bicycle is convenient in Sahali.

Services

Schools and daycares are convenient to access on foot from anywhere in Sahali. Parents are served by public and private schools at both the primary and secondary school level. With respect to food, a portion of home buyers in this area may be able to reach the nearest grocery store on foot, while others will have to use another means of transportation. There are also a few choices for those who value close by restaurants and cafes.

Character

The character of Sahali is exemplified by its calm ambience. Reaching parks in the community, like Peterson Creek Nature Park and Albert McGowan Park, is very easy since there are around 10 of them close by for residents to visit. This part of Kamloops is also reasonably good for those who need quiet surroundings, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although that is not the case closer to highway 5a or Hillside Offramp Way.

Housing

In Sahali, about 40% of dwellings are single detached homes, whereas the remainder are mainly small apartment buildings. This part of Kamloops is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy about two thirds of the dwellings in Sahali and one third are rented. About 45% of homes in this community were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s.
