Townsite is a fairly convenient part of Nanaimo for bike riders. More precisely, the bicycling network is good. It is also convenient for pedestrians to navigate this neighbourhood; many daily errands can be run without the use of a vehicle. Commuting by car is easy in Townsite. Coming across a parking spot is generally easy. However, travelling by public transit is difficult in this part of the city. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes.

The nearest grocery store in this part of Nanaimo is typically only a short walk away. A limited variety of restaurants and cafes is available as well. Concerning education, it is a very short walk to reach primary schools and daycares from most homes for sale in this part of Nanaimo. In contrast, there are no high schools in this neighbourhood.
