Pleasant Valley-Rutherford is a neighbourhood within Nanaimo, British Columbia, which is situated in the Greater Nanaimo metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent means of transportation in Pleasant Valley-Rutherford. It is very easy to find a parking spot, and the majority of real estate listings are a very short car ride from the closest highway. However, getting around by public transit is difficult in this part of the city. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and it is especially convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most residences. The bike is a sometimes poor mode of transportation in this part of Nanaimo because there are a limited number of bike lanes, and riding is rendered arduous by the typically hilly area. Pleasant Valley-Rutherford is also not especially well-suited for walking as few daily errands can be run without the use of a car.
