Situated in the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area, Lower West Lynn is a neighbourhood within District of North Vancouver, British Columbia.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent transportation option in this neighbourhood. It is very convenient to find a parking spot, and it is a short drive to the closest highway, such as Trans-Canada Highway, from anywhere in this area. However, Lower West Lynn is not particularly transit friendly. Thankfully, residents are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far away from most homes. This part of the municipality is amenable to cycling. On the other hand, there are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of Lower West Lynn, even though many common errands can be run on foot.

Services

It is convenient to access the nearest grocery store by walking in this area. In terms of education, in this area, families will almost always be able to access primary schools and daycares by walking. However, this part of the municipality does not contain any high schools.

Character

The character of Lower West Lynn is exemplified by its relaxed environment. This part of the municipality is quiet overall, as the streets are usually quite peaceful - however noise can be bothersome around Trans-Canada Highway or Mountain Offramp Highway. Lastly, there are approximately 10 public green spaces close by for residents to explore, which results in them being very easy to reach from most locations within the neighbourhood.

Housing

The homes in this area are quite old, because around half of its dwellings were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960. In this part of District of North Vancouver, most dwellings are single detached homes, and the remainder are mainly duplexes. About 85% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 15% are occupied by renters. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
